Leon Stoltz CEO – Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Leon sets the course for the future growth of the company. Prior to co-founding the Company in 2004, Mr. Stoltz served as CEO of several start-up companies in industries including telecommunications, import/export and commercial real estate.
Prior to his emigration in 1993 to the United States from South Africa, he worked for Telkom, SA, overseeing product launches and implementation of national trade shows and exhibitions.
After achieving many successful startups of his own he began holding a casual Friday morning meeting each week with people interested in unique investment opportunities as well as people wanting to start their own businesses, as a result IdeaOcean was created.
Leon’s meetings continue to meet on a monthly basis inviting attendees to join their FishBowls at no charge – they do this in order to maintain the original tone for the IdeaOcean team and the grass roots level of energy entrepreneurs always exude.
Jenny Ling COFO – Chief Operations & Finance Officer
The IdeaOcean Operations & Finance officer is Jenny Ling who earned a BA from Mercer University and an MBA from The University of Pennsylvania’s – The Wharton School, with a major in Finance and concentration in Multinational Management.
She has extensive experience in the areas of risk management and treasury positions with The Coca-Cola Company and Harris/3M, Post MBA; she worked with AIG, Grace Specialty Businesses, W.R. Grace & Co., Ciba Vision and PepsiCo. Her role with these companies was in treasury and strategy groups, which included financial analysis and strategic planning for both the corporations and their subsidiaries.
Though Jenny knows her way around a boardroom her true passion is with entrepreneurial and small businesses. “There is a level of enthusiasm and excitement in working with entrepreneurs that does not exist in major corporations, I can apply my knowledge gained from the corporate side as well as the first hand experience as a successful entrepreneur,” says Jenny.
She knows the role of an entrepreneur first as the part owner of the leading clinical research company, MedaPhase and as a partner in a local Atlanta business, KnobAppeal, a manufacturer and distributor of decorative hardware.
Most recently she has spent her time consulting with The Vera Company, as their acting CFO participating in the re-launch of the 1950’s Vera Neumann brand.
Martha Henson CMO – Chief Marketing Officer
As a native Atlantan raised and educated in the south – Martha has fueled many a national new business and Fortune 500 marketing plans. At age 24 she began as a co-founder and publisher of KNOWAtlanta Magazine, the first national relocation publication targeting newcomers to the city, and at that time an untapped niche.
On the marketing agency side she started at Trousdell Design and worked with national accounts such as Kimberly Clark, Georgia Pacific, SunTrust Bank, Bank of America, Stephen Fuller Company, Long Aldridge & Norman, Coca-Cola, CNN, and many many more.
She produced corporate collateral materials, annual reports, and branded new businesses with award winning identity programs.
On the client side she worked as marketing director of an Atlanta residential home designer. Elevating him as the leading national home plan designer and gaining recognition as an iconic leader in residential design.
Most recently she has worked with the Spanx Inc. in-house marketing team, where she contributed to the marketing and public relations department to promote consumer products.
Though Martha found firming women’s butt’s a gratifying challenge, the highlight of her 4 years with Spanx was the launching of the Sara Blakely Foundation with Sara Blakely, Richard Branson and the Virgin Unite team. Martha says, “Empowering women through entrepreneurship with the “support” of supporting women’s butt’s – while working with Virgin was an exciting experience!”
Martha brings with her an innate level of experience and ability to understand a product, brand that product, and take it to market with a strategic plan. Through extensive discovery she identifies the product, the niche, uncovers the marketing objectives, develops a plan, budgets, timelines, and executes efficiently and successfully.
